This past month, the council conducted a survey to get input from our Cub Scout families on plans for summer Cub Scout programs.  After reviewing the survey results and recommendations of the CDC, American Camp Association, and state and local health departments, we have developed new summer programs due to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. For Summer 2020, we are pleased to offer the following Cub Scout programs: Backyard Day Camp (virtual camp experience), Cub Adventure Days and Family Overnight Camping!

Cub Adventure Days

Backyard Day Camp (online)

Family Overnight Camping

Cub Adventure Days are held as three-hour sessions on Saturdays and Sundays, Cub Adventure Days will alternate between Camp Oh-Da-Ko-Ta and Indian Mound Scout Reservation. The program will include fun camp activities like swimming, shooting sports, mountain biking, fishing, frisbee golf and scavenger hunts.

New Camp Safety Procedures

Due to the impact of COVID-19, new camp check-in procedures will be in place this summer.  Each arriving vehicle will be given a personal health assessment survey for each passenger to complete and everyone entering camp will have their temperature checked with an air thermometer.

To help protect campers, camp staff will be wearing face coverings while working at camp.  Per CDC recommendations, Scouts and families are also strongly encouraged to wear face coverings while at camp and will be required to wear face coverings in certain program areas such as the shooting sports ranges.  Campers will be asked to bring their own face covering and our camps will have a limited supply of face masks available for those who need them.

Enhanced Camp Cleaning
Enhanced camp cleaning protocols will be implemented this summer.  All restrooms, commonly used surfaces, and program equipment will be thoroughly cleaned by camp staff throughout the day.  Hand sanitizer and hand washing stations will be located throughout camp.

Refund Policy
If a family is not comfortable attending camp this summer or the new dates do not work, full refunds will be provided if notice is given 24 hours in advance.  Any Scouts who have already registered or made a camp deposit may use their payment towards these new programs or receive a complete refund.
